Centenary rooms, the sea, the cool summer evenings: every night, a new fairytale
The 45 rooms of the Hotel Miramare overlook the bay of the small port of Castiglioncello and the centenary Marradi pine forest. These are historic rooms, where politicians, people from the aristocracy, artists of the whole 20th century stayed. Among all, we remember the Prime Minister Winston Churchill in room 37, the actress Marta Abba in room 23, the playwright Luigi Pirandello in room 24 (facing the historic partner), the artistic director Mario Missiroli in room 26, the actors Marcello Mastroianni at room 10 and Alberto Sordi in room 38.
In September 1962 the Hotel Miramare hosted the cast of “Il Sorpasso” including the director Dino Risi in room 37, the actor Vittorio Gassman in room 82 and actress Catherine Spaak in room 49.
On 19 August 1984 the senator, and then Minister of the Interior, Giovanni Spadolini recalled the value and tenacity of resistance in a historic speech in front of the citizens. That day, a commemorative plaque was, and still is, displayed at the entrance of the Hotel.
In the following years until today, the Hotel has managed to preserve the charm and sobriety of the past, giving peace and serenity to those who want to spend days relaxing and contemplating the sea, savoring history.
Equipped with every comfort, it is available in the original version, with antique furniture inlaid in solid wood, grit floors and marble details, and in a renewed version. The Double Room offers relaxing views of the bay and the Tuscan archipelago or, in the opposite side, of the centenary Marradi pine forest.
Ideal for short stays with the family, it is available in the original version, with furniture and refined marble, and in a modern version. Large and comfortable, it is equipped with every comfort, to make your stay as relaxing and pleasant as possible for guests. The Triple room is available with a sea view, overlooking the enchanting bay of the small port of Castiglioncello, and with a view on the pine forest, whose pine trees, now centenary, date back to the early 20th century.
The Family Room at the Miramare Hotel is designed for families or large groups, because it can suit different needs. It is available in the original version, with antique solid wood furniture, grit floors and real marble details, both in a renewed version. The Family Room is available both with sea view and with pine forest view. Among the rooms of this type, we also have the room occupied by Winston Churchill during his stay in Castiglioncello at the end of the Second World War.
Hotel Miramare has two Junior Suites. They both have a sea view. Over the years, they have hosted illustrious names from Italian and foreign history, literature and cinema. These are finely restored rooms that retain the characteristic features of the historic foundation. But what makes them so enchanting is definitely the breathtaking view: when the air is clear, you could see Corsica in front of you.
